You'll remember how recently I told you about my new Ferragamo shades I got from Sunglass Hut. Well I'm both excited and embarrassed to tell you that they have been sidelined for the moment. I'm sure I will go back to them at some point, but for now I simply have no option but to indulge in these limited edition 18-karat white gold-tipped Ray Ban Wayfarers.

Not really. If anything is over the top, it's the response I've had – my God! Models coming up to me, cooing, everywhere I go…

"Ooh, I luuurve your shades, Seth! Is that silver on the tips?"

"Thanks, baby. No, it's actually white gold"

"White gold??!!"

"That's right, mischief!"

"Oh my God, they're stunning!"

"Ja, I know.."

Here's some interesting info for those of you who can get to Sunglass Hut fast enough before they're all gone:

Ray-Ban, the world's most famous eyewear brand, introduces an exclusive limited edition of its legendary Ray-Ban Wayfarer model, The Ray-Ban Ultra Wayfarer Limited Edition.


Oh yes…

The acetate frames are decorated with two 18-karat white gold inserts, the first on the temple end piece and the second near the hinge.

The two versions of this limited edition have different lens colours: the first has polarized green lenses, and the second has polarized lenses with a 24-karat gold mirrored finish. This limited edition of the Wayfarer will be sold in selected stores, with only 7,000 pieces (3,500 pieces per colour) available worldwide.

With only 3,500 pairs of the ones I'm wearing above, you can only image how few are here in South Africa.

J&B MET 2010 "IN FULL COLOUR"

South Africa's impressive horse racing event took place at the Kenilworth Race Course on Saturday 30th January.
The Met first took place 200 years ago when soldiers invited their ladies to watch them race at Kenilworth, and this of course- in a bid to impress!

 

The Met is much less about horse racing than it is about Fashion, fashionistas can most definitely be seen showing off glamorous outfits at the Met.


The theme this year was "In Full Colour" and  Sunglass Hut's sentimients were..."if it's about fun and about being sexy, savvy, real and inspirational"- then what better place to strut the exclusivity of Sunglass Hut than at the 2010 J& B Met.

They are at events looking beautiful like the brand- invite visitors to try on and have fun with our product- take their picture, collect their details including mobile numbers and we will drop their photo into a branded Sunglass Hut digital frame. What then? We now had the photo and mobile numbers... and we know how much we all love social networking! Sunglass Hut makes it easier for these fashionistas to upload their latest photo onto Facebook, twitter, etc ... We sent each person an mms branded with the Sunglass Hut logo and a tagline- "you PUT THEM ON at the J&B Met"
Photos were sent about 3 hours after the Met had finished with a separate sms offering them R500 off their purchase of R1750 at any Sunglass Hut store."

Seen recently shopping at Sunglass Hut- was Zebra & Giraffe at the V& A Waterfront as Sunglass Hut brand ambassadors.




Zebra & Giraffe, the South African rock band’s debut ‘Collected Memories’ is as unique as the animals it is named after.

Zebra& Giraffe’s 5 band players have toured across South Africa and played alongside acts such as Snow Patrol, Oasis, etc.

Zebra & Giraffes latest acts include a gig at the Assembly as well as at Kirstenbosch in the 2009/ 2010 summer.

The band visited the Sunglass Hut V&A Waterfront store in December 2009 before the show at the Assembly. The party of 5 were treated to a “Sunglass Hut Experience” and loved every minute of it!

Summer Sunglass trend as we know included burst of bright and bold colours as well as retro/ vintage shapes and to no surprise- the choice complimented the trends.
