Following the successful launch of Stella McCartney’s eyewear
collection in 2010, Sunglass Hut presents her second collection, a
romantic and ladylike inspired story on trend and in line with her
catwalk collections for summer 2011.
The pastel and nudes story is testament to Stella’s unique sense of
simplistic style, underpinned by an indisputable element of quirk.
The summer range comprises of timeless sunglass shapes; from retro
round to cat eyes along side elegant shields and classic aviators. It
is versatile and undeniably stylish but with a personality all of
it’s own. Adhering to the archetypal Stella McCartney aesthetic of
‘less is more’, the simplicity of her design is the element that makes
it so fresh and feminine.
Available in pretty pastel pinks, greens, blues, greys and nudes,
and ranging from R1950 to R2090 the Stella McCartney eyewear collection is available at Sunglass Hut stores nationwide.

Super blogger Bryan Boy dazzles in South Africa
Bryan Boy, famous for chronicling his sartorial adventures through
a visual diary of fashion happenings from across the world, recently visited
South Africa to talk fashion, eyewear and blogging. The eclectic blogger
visited Johannesburg and Cape Town courtesy of a partnership between premium
fashion sunglass retailer, Sunglass Hut SA and Marie Claire magazine.

Bryan Boy, pen name of Bryan Grey Yambao, presented the Best Fashion Blogger Award at this year’s Marie Claire Prix d’Excellence de la Mode awards in addition to conducting blogger workshops and Sunglass Hut store visits during his five day tour.
Internationally, associations with bloggers have become
commonplace with retailers. Brands have recognised the importance of engaging
with the ‘new elite’. Locally Sunglass Hut, heralds this movement with blogger
relations and partnerships already forming a vital part of the marketing
strategy. Brand and product awareness garnered an additional boost during the
Bryan Boy tour, with bloggers, media, fashionistas and customers all joining
the conversation via social networks and blogs.
"Bryan’s visit to our stores and blogger workshops has proven
to be a successful brand awareness campaign due to his knowledge of fashion and
love for sunglasses.” said Amanda Rich, marketing manager of Sunglass Hut SA. Rich
adds, “We have long supported the blogging community and believe that it is a
mainstream vehicle of communication.”
Bryan Boy is one of the biggest names amongst an influential crop
of fashion bloggers - with their own commercial contracts, front-row seats at
fashion shows and multi -page spreads in magazines.
During his time in SA Bryan
Boy shared his top tips for blogging success:
1. Decide what you want
to blog about, uncover your reasons and stick to it!
2. Be positive rather
than negative.
3. Bloggers are the new
media elite, but will never replace the glossies.
4. Be real and
transparent with your readers. Don’t just copy and paste the work from
international sources,
PR people and journalists.
5. Only accept
sponsorship from brands you actually believe in.
