Folding sunglasses have
fast become a must- have for the travel junkies among us. 2 seasons ago,
Ray-Ban reintroduced the folding wayfarer which was a hit amongst the fashion forward
and avid travelers- finally a pair of sunglasses which could easily be folded
away into your shirt pocket or clutch as the sun goes down!
Designer brands such as
Burberry and Prada soon followed the lead and introduced the market to fold-ups
in bright and bold colours by Burberry and classic oversized ladies folding
sunglasses by Prada.
Prada fold-up, introduced
as part of the “Folding In Love’ project, the story as released by Prada goes
as follows:
An interplay of reality
and virtual games: Prada Presents Folding in Love.
Folding In Love is a Prada
project that tells the imaginary world of folding glasses through a simulated videogame.
It is the brief and
intense adventure of an object, in this case sunglasses, which is the flying
lead character in a multi-level surreal journey. As befits the classic ‘arcade’
videogames, after travelling through multiple worlds in the Prada universe, the
adventure ends in a romantic conclusion.
Black and white chequered
floors, coloured trolleys, alphabet-shaped tricks, backpack snap-hooks,
crocodile minibags and countless other elements from the Prada collections mark
the
game's space, thus
outlining a visual universe that spans digital fantasy and perfect 3D
rendering.
The hero object is the new
Prada Folding Sunglasses, a design accessory that transforms, flies, hovers, rotates,
bends to overcome barriers and dodge hurdles, all the way to the videogame's
grand finale, where it conquers the princess – the ladies' version of the
sunglasses.
The song that forms the
soundtrack of Folding in Love is “Ace of Hz” from the album “Gravity the Seducer”.

With
the signature Versace icon emblazoned on the temple, it is the unique

of their own. The pattern is made up of the Medusa seal, Versace’s
famous logo that was inspired by Medusa in classic Greek Mythology.
Subtle
yet effective, the new collection is defined by bold colours that have
been interpreted into modern metal frames where the Medusa reflection is
ultimate temptress.
